130 year old! a GORTON FC Sharpe's Play Up footy card, featuring the meeting place of the rivers Irk and Irwell where the historical Manchester castle once stood?  A very rare  "SHARPE'S PLAY UP" generic scene football card but as it is one of the oldest recorded Manchester City relics it's doubly valuable and no doubt ripe for the plucking by one of those millionaires at The Etihad. NOTE : all these are what are referred to, in the card trade, as 'packet issues'. They were printed in a magazine, intended to be cut out and stuck down into an album, supplied by the same magazine, in this case Radio Courier, a kind of "TV Times" of Italy. Issued for Mexico 70, and titled "COPPA RIMET MEXICO 70". All these paper stickers have some kind of triangular stamp hinge, or photo mount residue to the rear. They are priced according to condition. All are EXTREMELY RARE items as few remain loose, nor available on the market today.

1930's German rarity, MANCHESTER CITY legend, Irish national team (Northern Ireland) star Peter Doherty, by Union Cigarettes. If you see this card these days it'll most likely be stuck-down into an album. Very few in any state survived the destruction and carpet bombing inferno inflicted upon Germany as World War Two closed. This is in VERY GOOD condition. There is a slight scratch over his left eye but the card stands justifiably as VERY GOOD.. You won't ever find better! VERY RARE. £75.
