STOCKPORT COUNTY F.232
It's not often you see these! 1922. Pattreiouex Casket Cigarettes large team
cards, the so-called real photographic issues of that era & of their
various series of cards. By far the rarest Pattreiouex/Casket
football cards, these large cards have been topping £100 since the
mid-1990s (e.g. recorded sales at MCC Sports Cards
Auctions, Ashford, Middx.)
VERY FAINT crease bottom centre otherwise it'd be classed as VG. So, only
£95 for this card.

Extremely rare VCC trade card of
Arthur Layton, the captain of the 1922 Stockport County Div.III
North champions. Number 22. This card may well date the set, as
Arthur Layton was headline news in 1922, to a 1923/24 set. We
think so. GOOD. £95 SOLD

CARD. Possibly cut from another card on 1 side. 3
sides as issued, i.e. not re-cut. Not listed, not recorded, not
priced nor mentioned by any catalogue nor magazine known to us. "Prominent Young Players of Season 1924-1925" is
the title. As for the issuer we think it's D.C. Thomson, though we
cannot be sure. We have seen a couple of paper copies(?) of these
cards but never the original thing before now. From a John Allen
album, from a page with a note added, written-up by him, when he
added these to his collection: 'platinum rarities - only
these few ever seen; bought the lot at ?25 each, from Don, 1994 who
sells-off less than perfect trade cards. He' nuts, these are rarer
than most of the cards he keeps. Happy for Don's decision though!'
