MUCH RARER than supposed ... as rare as the 1930s issues AND RARER
STILL as these cards have 3 - THREE - varieties. Post war paper
supplies, being what they were, were hit and miss; so too was the
printing, which is why these appear in at least THREE varieties, on
white paper, or on buff-toned grey paper, and with so many types of
off-set and litho print styles, dark and light backgrounds, etc.
Surely one of the most difficult series to find all varieties of and
impossible to complete a full set! LUTON TOWN to Chelsea, this
card of Billy Hughes, the Welsh International, exists with "LUTON"
inscription but this is the later version, rarer, and with CHELSEA
title.. LIGHT
background later type/ whiter cardstock type.
Faults_ light, faint corner crease and others, but this very rare card is
still about GOOD £35 includes
postage (Europe)

features a mid-1980's line-up of well-known and legendary players
with Mal Donaghy of LUTON TOWN (and the team was, of course, managed
by Billy Bingham, another Hatters connection.) EXTREMELY RARE! Click the picture left to see larger pictures of back & front,

LUTON TOWN's Mal Donaghy, of Northern Ireland. An anonymous Italian issue, never available in GB; a large
cut-out gummy back sticker (UN-gummed, never stuck-down into album,
as intended) issued by "Il Giornarlino" in 1982, to mark the World
Cup in Spain. This is a very scarce issue, due for rarity values
ever-rising...
